National HIV Repository and Bioinformatic Center (Thailand) or NHRBC is a Collaborating Center of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital and Department of Diseases Control, established in June 2000 and located at 7th Floor Microbiology Building, Siriraj Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand.

OBJECTIVES

1.Collect, characterize, and distribute HIV-1 isolates from Thailand with biotype, genotype, clinical, and epidemiological data.
2. Provide molecular epidemiological data HIV-1 in Thailand.
3. Develop diagnostic and monitoring kits for HIV-1 infection, based on HIV-1 isolates from Thailand, including anti-HIV antibody detection, proviral DNA/RNA PCR kit, and HIV-1 RNA/DNA quantitation kit.
4. Facilitate development and trial of HIV/AIDS vaccine in Thailand.
5. Strengthening neighboring countries in infrastructure of laboratory methods used in HIV-1 genotype/biotype and vaccine trial by training and providing materials
